Greetings from Pineview!

After a great start up, we are already busy with exciting events and activities.  Please check out the Pineview Website for the up-to-date calendar and join us on twitter @PsPineview.

Track’n Field - Our team is ready to run for an after school Track Meet on Wednesday September 19th and all day Track Meet on Thursday October 5th.

Terry Fox - Pineview School will participate in a Terry Fox Walk on Thursday September 20th.  You can send a toonie with your child or donate at www.terryfox.ca/PineviewGeorgetown

School Council Meeting - Our first meeting will be Monday September 24th in the Staff Room.  Please join us at 6:30 pm. We will not have childcare for this meeting, but will organize if required for future meetings.

Orange Shirt Day - Friday September 28th students at Pineview will be celebrating Orange Shirt Day.  Inspired by the story of Phyllis (Jack) Webstad, who was a student at St. Joseph Mission Residential School in Williams Lake B.C. Orange Shirt Day is inspired by her experience on her first day at Residential School.  All students are welcome to wear an orange shirt or something orange.

Pineview Open House - Join us from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on Wednesday October 3rd for an opportunity to visit your child’s classroom and meet their educators.

Late Students - Please ensure that your students are arriving on time at school every day.  If you are late, please remember that we will not be answering the front door between 8:30 and 8:40 am while we sing the national anthem and listen to announcements.

Food at School - The only food that should be at school is what comes from home for snacks and lunch or what is provided to students from the school food program (provided by staff) and Healthy Snack Program.  Homemade or store bought treats for a whole class will not be accepted at school. We know this comes from a place of kindness, but our primary focus is the safety of all students as we consider food sensitivities.

Pizza Days - Dates and forms will be available early next week.

Lunch Lady - This independent program is available to any student at Pineview.  If you are interested in joining you can contact her @ halton.peel@thelunchlady.ca

Healthy Snack Program - We will be launching our Healthy Snack Program beginning Monday October 1st.  This program is sponsored by the Halton Food for Thought and a President’s Choice Children’s Charity grant.  Healthy nutritious snacks will be available to all students at Pineview throughout the day. This program is not intended to replace food from home, but to offer students a little snack if they are hungry and run out of food for the day.

Milk Orders -  If you’d like to purchase Milk, orders are due this Friday, Sept 21st!   NO late orders will be taken after this date.

School Cash On Line - Don’t miss out on trips, food orders, milk orders etc!  Be sure to register with School Cash On Line and receive email notification whenever there is anything to be purchased for your child at the school!

Once registered and your order is placed, please remember to CASH OUT and wait for your CONFIRMATION EMAIL/RECEIPT NUMBER!  It is important that receive the email confirmation/receipt number.  Without it, your transaction/order is not complete, which will result in the school not receiving the order for your child(ren).  You will need your child’s STUDENT NUMBER to register. If you require this number, please call the school office and we would be happy to assist you.

Thanks to everyone for your continued support.  We look forward to seeing everyone on Wednesday October 3rd from 6:30 to 7:30 pm for the Pineview Open House.
